Correct RPM
The selection of the appropriate rotation of the blade is a key element in the processing of natural stones. It depends mainly on 2 elements:
1. Disc diameter: it is a key element in selecting the correct speed. Diamond blades for stationary machines with diameters from 350 mm to 466 mm achieved their optimal parameters with rotations from 1800 to 2300 RPM, blades with diameters from 500 mm to 530 mm, 1400 - 1800 RPM, while larger blades with a diameter between 600 mm and 630 mm, 1300 - 1600 RPM.
2. Type and hardness of the material: soft materials such as marble should be processed using a specialized blade, adapted to work at higher speeds. In the case of a disc with a diameter of 400 mm, the revolutions should be in the range of 2200-2400 RPM. On the other hand, harder materials such as granite: bengal black, impala, star galaxy, in the case of a disc of the same diameter (400 mm), should be processed at a speed of between 1800 and 2200 RPM. Very hard materials, such as: Viscount White granite or various types of natural quartzites, need a slightly lower speed when processing: 1600-2000 RPM (400 mm). So we can conclude that the harder the processed material, the lower the recommended speed.
